Emma Berkelbach van der Sprenkel, MD, MSc, is a pediatric resident at the Wilhelmina Children’s Hospital in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Alongside her clinical training, she has a background in Clinical and Health Psychology and is involved in PhD research on the psychosocial well-being of children living with chronic conditions.
Emma has a strong interest in the connection between medicine and psychology. She is a trainer with both the Dutch PROSA Faculty and Leading Doctors. In her daily work, she aims to truly see each child and to connect creatively with their individual experiences and needs. She believes that high-quality care combines clinical excellence with genuine attention, collaboration and a sense of safety. Curiosity, humor and human connection shape the way she works with children, families and colleagues.
