Jo Vrancken is the Head of the Bachelor of Nursing program at PXL University College Hasselt. With a clinical background as an anesthesia and head nurse, Jo has extensive experience and interest in supporting young children during anesthesia and the postoperative recovery phase. Jo’s initial research focused on addressing preoperative anxiety using serious games, eventually shifting focus toward procedural comfort and anxiety reduction during medical interventions. As a faculty member of PROSA Flanders, Jo now leads initiatives in nursing education regarding procedural comfort care. At the PROSA congress, Jo will co-facilitate a workshop on nasogastric tube placement in young children.
