As a Healthcare Clown, Joscha thrives on the inherent possibilities for connection and interaction within the realm of play. She delights in demonstrating how she playfully seeks out connections, balancing effort with relaxation and infusing humor into every interaction. Often, she finds that stimulating the senses serves as a gateway to these connections.

Creating such meaningful contact presents an unique challenge: one must cultivate a playful mindset and embrace a lighthearted approach. For Joscha, this pursuit of essential connection remains an ongoing adventure, brimming with excitement and challenges. It demands a willingness to be vulnerable and fully present, attuned to even the slightest cues – a glance, a smile – that signal a special encounter.

In environments filled with tension and stress, such as hospitals or healthcare settings, Healthcare Clowns offer invaluable playgrounds for connection. In such delicate environments, the healthcare professionals and clowns are working closely together. Establishing rapport and trust with children is paramount, ensuring that the play is both enjoyable and meaningful. Healthcare Clowns are not afraid to stumble, laugh, and try again, always with a smile. When play is embraced by all involved, they bring joy, relaxation, and a welcome distraction to everyone in their midst.

Joscha de Boever (born 1968) embarked on her professional journey as a Montessori teacher for elementary education. However, Joscha's fascination with creative spontaneity, profound insights, and the transformative power of clowning led her to transition into a new path. In 2001, she joined CliniClowns. Currently, she thrives as a Healthcare Clown and as Master-trainer, specializing in applying clowning and play within hospital settings.

Drawing from her experiences as an interactive performer, particularly as a healthcare clown, Joscha possesses an unique skill set. This includes the ability to keenly observe and respond to subtle physical and emotional cues, all while engaging in playful interactions. She has translated these skills into an interactive training program centered on the art of establishing genuine and playful connections with one's surroundings.

In 2008, Joscha established her own theater workshop space and training company, furthering her dedication to fostering creativity and connection through clowning and play.
