However, Joscha's fascination with creative spontaneity, profound insights, and the transformative power of clowning led her to transition into a new path. In 2001, she joined CliniClowns. Currently, she thrives as a Healthcare Clown and as Master-trainer, specializing in applying clowning and play within hospital settings.


Jurgen de Graaff (MD; PHD)

Jurgen is an anesthesiologist (2008) and epidemiologist (2004). He studied Medicine at the University of Maastricht (1996) and obtained his PhD at the Academic Medical Center, University of Amsterdam (2003) on the thesis entitled: “The use of microcirculatory techniques in the assessment of pathophysiology, diagnosis and management of critical limb ischemia”.

Inge de Vlieger has worked as a psychologist (GZ-psycholoog iot specialist) in Amsterdam OLVG Hospital since 2009. Her study background is Child and Adolescent Psychology as well as Neuropsychology at University of Amsterdam (2009). She is also part of research in the AMICA study, neurocognitive follow-up study for premature children.

Şükrü Genco (Turkey, 1968) served as a pediatrician and several chair positions at OLVG Hospital in Amsterdam until 2023.  He is the Congress co-Director for PROSA conferences and holds positions as Chairman of the foundation for pediatric sedation NL. He has extensive clinical experience in pediatric procedural sedations and collaborates in the development of nationwide guidelines in this field.

Julia Höffe, a pediatrician specializing in Pediatric Emergency Medicine from Montreal, Canada, serves as Deputy Medical Director at Inselspital Bern's Pediatric Emergency Department since 2016. She directs EPALS courses and focuses on Pediatric Sedation and Analgesia research. She's a member of Swiss pediatric societies.


Zeev Kain (MD; PhD)

Dr. Kain is a Chancellor’s Professor, an anesthesiologist and pediatrician who has an extensive background in transformational management in hospitals and operating rooms. He previously served as the Dean of Clinical Operations and Chair of Anesthesiology at UC Irvine Health and Professor and Chief of Children’s Anesthesia at Yale University.

Linda Kersten (MSC)

Linda Kersten started her career of teaching children with special needs. Wanting to do more in the field of psychology, she started to at the Radboud University of Nijmegen. After graduation in 2009, she is working as a health care psychologist (GZ-psycholoog) and cognitive behavioural therapist at ‘Maasziekenhuis Pantein’, the Netherlands.

He is a professor in procedural sedation and analgesia in children (PROSA chair) at the School of Health Professions Education at Maastricht University and graduated in 2017as a Master in Health Professions Education at the Maastricht School of Health Professions Education.

Mark G. Roback, MD, is Visiting Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Section Head of Emergency Medicine at Children’s Hospital Colorado (CHCO). In addition to his clinical duties, Dr. Roback oversees the clinical and academic work of 180 faculty who care for over 200,00 ill and injured children each year in 7 emergency departments (ED) and urgent care sites across central Colorado; serving children in Colorado and the 7-state region.

Vera Tomassen – de Waal is the proud mom of 2 daughters. Her youngest – Bommel – is 12 years old and has special needs. She is severely mentally and physically disabled. However, she remains undiagnosed, no genetic disorder has been found (yet).

Christian Hoebe (prof;dr)

Professor Dr. Christian Hoebe, professor in Sociale Geneeskunde aan de Universiteit Maastricht, combineert 25 jaar ervaring in de praktijk en onderzoek van de volksgezondheid. Hij is voorzitter van de afdeling Sociale Geneeskunde en leidt het Living Lab Public Health Mosa. Zijn onderzoek richt zich op vaccinatiegedrag. Hij adviseert nationale beleidsorganen over vaccinatie en COVID-19.

Julia Morales Belmar (Maastricht, 1993) MD, MSc is arts gespecialiseerd in jeugdgezondheidszorg en kinderpsychiatrie. Zij geeft daarnaast les aan de Universiteit Maastricht over het Rijksvaccinatieprogramma.

Ze zet zich in voor het verbeteren van de vaccinatie-ervaring voor kinderen bij GGD Zuid-Limburg en zal de voortgang hiervan delen tijdens het symposium op 11 september.
