Since 2010 Michael Brackhahn is Consultant in the Department of Pediatric Anesthesia, Pediatric Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine Department at the Pediatric Hospital “Auf der Bult”, Hanover, Germany.
He started his career as anesthetist in Aachen, Germany and became a specialist in pediatric anesthesia from 2006 on at the University hospital in Amiens, France.
Until September 2018 he was treasurer of ESPA (European Society for Pediatric Anesthesiology) and he still is a board member of ADARPEF (Society of French Speaking Pediatric Anesthetists and Intensive Care Medicine) as well as active member of the Scientific Work group for Pediatric Anesthesia (WAKKA, Wissenschaftlicher Arbeitskreis Kinderanaesthesie der DGAI) in Germany. He is also a member of the German Society of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine (DGAI) and the German Society of Ultrasound in Medicine (DEGUM).
He works as a reviewer for articles in the field of pediatric anesthesia and is an invited speaker in national and international conferences in the field of pediatric anesthesia and sedation, as well as workshop leader for ultrasound-guided venous and central venous access, and regional anesthesia techniques in pediatric anesthesia.
